About the Savannah College of Art and Design

With 40-plus majors and more than 60 minors, the Savannah College of Art and Design offers more degree programs and specializations than any other art and design university. More than 11,000 students from all 50 states and more than 100 countries are enrolled at SCAD. SCAD also has eight galleries in Savannah, four in Atlanta, two in Lacoste and one gallery in Hong Kong.

Athletics & Academics

SCAD’s mascot is Art the Bee, and the school’s colors are gold and black. While it offers a wide variety of intercollegiate and intramural sports, SCAD still maintains that academic-pursuits should be the top priority.

When it comes to academics, classes are small, which gives each student the opportunity for individual attention. Nearly 700 professors from around the world teach courses at SCAD.

Historic Preservation

The Savannah College of Art and Design prides itself only being a leader in restoring and reusing much of Savannah’s architecture. We encourage you to take a tour of the city and SCAD next time you’re in Savannah!
